June Explanation

Started by: dustaf (inactive)

'Burglars are not my favourite people.'

I do not like burglars one bit.

In fact, I think I'll resurrect a few of my 'Oh Dear, How Sad' threads.

Handbags here we come.

A bit like yon football manager:

"Do I not like that".

I bet that caused some confusion.

Best clarify.

I'm not suggesting the football manager was/is a burglar.

Procrastination is the thief of time.

Prcocrastination is nothing which the Vice Squad may be interested in.

I suppose it behoves me to give a June explanation for this 'June Explanation'.

From another thread:

Posted by: dustaf (28951)

Thoughts are with you, Aspey.

Trouble is, in this day and age, due to heightened security on vehicles, as mentioned above, cars are not stolen as such. Car keys are.

Burglars are not my favourite people.

Replied: 12th Jun 2013 at 01:04

Then confusion crept in.

Posted by: goose (278)

Burglars are not my favourite people.

Are they anybody's???????????????

Hope you get things sorted, aspey.

Replied: 12th Jun 2013 at 09:28

So I explained:

Posted by: dustaf (28951)

Burglars are not my favourite people.

Are they anybody's???????????????

Merely a turn of phrase, Walsh.

Message received?:

Posted by: goose (278)

Thanks for that

I thought what a strange comment, i've never heard of anyone who thinks burglars are there favourite people

But thanks for clearing that up

Replied: 12th Jun 2013 at 13:55

Apparently not:

Posted by: goose (278)

True that, let them break into an house wih 2 very large dogs.

There not be anything left of them to be

"not my favourite people"

Never heard anyone say that before.

Replied: 12th Jun 2013 at 14:03

From here

Then again, some people don't seem to get the point on various occasions.

Some sound advice:

Posted by: joseph 1 (19248)

The picture doesn't really detract from the post, Goose. I think it maybe time you just let it go now, new name new start sort of thing, just enjoy posting and ignore anything you don't like. Life's too short and spoils the boards for others.

Thanks to all for their contributions to the thread and the respect shown.

I recently heard a repeat of a routine about Snow White and the dwarves.

It had an air of cynicism about it and suggested they weren't all they should be.

Sneezy was that way due to sniffing Colombian marching powder etc.
